First painting completed as part of a series of watercolours of scenes from uptown Saint John, New Brunswick. Having painted in watercolours for the previous five years, I was drawn to the city’s brick-lined streets and aimed to capture the irregularity of their mottled colours with the buildings’ stark architectural lines and angles.
