I am often drawn to the changing skies and waterways in the region’s seaside and rivers, and the emotions they evoke. This painting depicts nuphar lutea, the yellow water lily, an aquatic perennial commonly found floating on bodies of water in the Maritimes. I am always pleasantly surprised and calmed by the sight of the flowers when I come across them when on or near the water.
